Is the ScootSuit meant for all-day wear?
No. The ScootSuit is not designed for all-day wear. It's a protective layer for high-germ, high-traffic places where babies crawl (airports, doctor's offices, hotels, etc.). For regular play at home, your baby can crawl and explore in their normal clothes.
What if my baby puts the mitts in their mouth?
Just like with anything else babies try to put in their mouths that shouldn't be there, ScootSuit is meant to be used with active parent supervision. If your baby brings the mitt toward their mouth after crawling, simply intervene and redirect them. The mitts are there to create a barrier between their hands and the floor, not to replace normal supervision.
Should my baby wear it at home?
You can use it at home if your home is being remodeled, or you want an extra barrier, but the ScootSuit was specifically created for public places where germs and dirt are harder to control.
Don't babies need germs for their immune system?
Yes—everyday germ exposure is a normal and important part of development. ScootSuit isn't about eliminating germs entirely—it's about adding protection in high-traffic public spaces like airports, waiting rooms, and restaurants, where surfaces can be especially dirty. Your baby still gets plenty of natural exposure at home and in everyday environments.

Fit & sizing
How does sizing work — should I size up?
Don't size up. It's already cut oversized to go over clothes.
Choose your baby's current size. ScootSuit is intentionally oversized so it slips over any outfit as a lightweight protective layer. Three sizes: 6–9M, 9–12M and 12–15M.
Will this interfere with my baby's development or sensory learning?
No—ScootSuit is meant for on-the-go use, not all-day wear. Babies still get full sensory experiences at home, on clean floors, and during regular play. This simply adds a layer of protection in places you wouldn't normally want them crawling freely.
Does it limit mobility?
No. It moves when they move.
The oversized, stretchy cut follows your baby through crawling, standing, scooting and pulling up. Nothing binds, nothing catches.
Materials & comfort
What is it made of?
95% cotton, 5% spandex. Soft, stretchy, breathable.
A blend chosen to stretch with your baby and hold its shape wash after wash.
Will my baby get too hot?
It breathes better than most 100% cotton outfits.
The cotton-spandex blend is breathable and temperature-friendly. It keeps babies cool while crawling, unlike heavier all-cotton or polyester pieces that trap heat.
What are the grips for?
Traction — on hands, knees and feet.
Non-slip grips help babies push off and stay steady, which matters most on the hard floors that can be slippery.
Can my baby use their hands with the mittens on?
The mitts fold back. Down for snacks and toys, closed for crawling.
The foldover mitts flip open in a second, so your baby has full use of their clean hands whenever they want a toy, a snack or a bottle. Fold them closed again when it's time to crawl.
Care & durability
How do I wash it?
Machine wash cold, tumble dry low.
No special detergents. No air-drying. It goes in with the rest of the load.
Does it shrink?
Minimal, if any.
The cotton-spandex blend keeps its shape extremely well.

Do you offer free shipping?
Free on all US orders.
No minimum, no threshold.
What's your return policy?
We accept returns and exchanges within 30 days of delivery for unworn, unwashed items with the original tags still attached.
Need a different size? Size exchanges are completely free, including return shipping.
For returns, we’ll provide a prepaid shipping label, and the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund. If you received an incorrect, damaged, or defective item, we’ll cover the return shipping cost—please email hello@scootsuit.com for assistance.
